Best Wedding Photos of 2015
It’s always a bit of an odd task to have to select a group of images as my “best wedding photos”, because they’re all so personal to me. So as is also the case when it comes to ranking films and books (two things I spend a lot of time doing, because I’m obsessed with lists!), I just go for images I love, that I think show something beautiful, something fun, or something real and heartfelt. Which is all I really want from wedding photography, in a nutshell!
I had such a great time in 2015. Every year is wonderful when you have the happy job of photographing weddings, of course, but I met such a lovely bunch of people this last year, who had such beautiful, heartfelt, quirky, kick-ass, fabulous, moving, loving and joyful weddings, that I felt particularly lucky to be doing the job I do.
Because it was so difficult to choose, I ended up with quite the epic post here – around double the number of images I usually include in a blog post. I’d apologise, but really, I can’t apologise for showing you photos of happy people in love and having the time of their lives. So make a cup of tea, grab a snack, and enjoy!
Also, a special thanks to all the other amazing photographers I worked with this year. I always have a second shooter with me when I shoot a wedding, and while it’s great for getting alternate angles and other moments, I also just love having you guys around to add to the fun (and decrease the stress) of a wedding day. Special thanks to my lovely friend Heline Bekker, with whom I went on a LOT of wedding roadtrips (wedtrips?) this year!
And a final thank you to my amazing couples. You’re gorgeous people, inside and out, and I’m so glad I get to call you friends.
