East Soar Farm Wedding, Devon
Sophie and Elliott came to me via one of Sophie’s bridesmaids, Ellie, who was a guest as Hannah and Sam’s Putney wedding last year. I bloody love referrals, because it means that not only did they like the photos, but they liked what I did on the day, too. So thank you so much, Ellie! I knew that any friends of friends of Hannah and Sam would have an excellent wedding with fabulous guests, and I wasn’t disappointed! Sophie and Elliott are so sweet and happy and in love, and all their friends and family were a really fun crowd who were super happy for them. So of course I had an amazing time.
Sophie & Eliott live in London, but Elliott is originally from Devon, so they decided to have their wedding down there at a farm called East Soar, which was perfect for their tropical farm wedding! It has friendly donkeys and sheep and a tiny pony for guests (read: me) to fawn over, tipi tents for guests to sleep in on the wedding night, as well as a gorgeous barn and a cool loft room for the ceremony. Everything was jazzed up with fairylights (swoon) and gold and white paper cranes, as well as tropical pineapples hanging above the dancefloor for the evening Latin American style DJ! The tables were named after tropical birds, and covered in masses of flowers, each vase different from the next (again, gladdening my heart).
Everyone at this wedding was so excited and so happy, which really makes my job easy – and a total pleasure! Look for people laughing, check. Find twenty people laughing at the same time, check. Make snap decision which ones to photograph. Repeat all day. Simple. 🙂
Sophie and Elliott, thank you SO MUCH for being fantastic!
The gorgeous flowers were by Marta Matson flowers.
