My first trip to the Natal Midlands turned out to be completely wonderful. Not only because it’s so incredibly beautiful there, but because Shauna and Ian were just the sweetest couple ever. And not just sweet, but fun, crazy and willing to go out in the rain and mist for their photoshoot without a murmur. It was misty and drizzly pretty much the entire day, so we worked with it and rocked it out! I was actually pretty excited by it, because it’s a new kind of prettiness I hadn’t worked with at a wedding before.
Props to the bridal party for going out in the rain, too, and I have to give a huge thanks to Fern and Kevin, the owners at Providence, who are prepared for all eventualities and provided all the bridesmaids with fleecy blankets to wear during the photoshoot, lent us their umbrellas, and had two of the venue staff follow us around with giant umbrellas so that Kelly (my second shooter) and I didn’t get wet! And thanks to Kelly for driving up from Durban!
Such a great wedding party!
My favourite – Shauna, you look so stunning here!
The decor and flowers were done by Eve of Splendid Affairs, who was one of Shauna’s bridesmaids!
It’s not a garter toss unless everyone ends up on the floor.
Shauna and Ian did THE most fun and funky dance I’ve ever seen at a wedding – hip hop style to a rock song…I don’t even know how to describe it, but it was AWESOME.
Another awesome thing: the desserts at Providence were AMAZING, and were all made by Fern, the owner (as well as the delicious chocolate wedding cake!) I just had to post a few pics of the desserts because, well, look at them!
YUM. Thank you so much to everyone involved in this gorgeous wedding!
