Desert Wedding Inspiration

Kent Wedding Photographer – A Desert Wedding shoot at Camber Sands, Kent

In love with the warm desert-inspired wedding shoots I keep seeing coming out of America, I really wanted to see if we could create something similar in the UK! With my usual partner in crime and styled shoot creator extraordinaire, Gwenda of The Vintage Floral Design Co, we set out to Camber Sands in Kent to make use of their sand dunes as a fake desert. Of course, Mother Nature had other plans, and our desert wedding  basically turned into Operation Desert Storm, as we battled the wind stinging sand into our legs, ears and eyes! I’ve never found so much sand in my hair, ears, nostrils and eyes after a shoot – or ever. On the up side, we all got a free facial scrub, and my skin has never been so smooth! 🙂

This shoot was recently featured on Festival Brides:

“The shoot’s aim was to combine Gwenda’s love for the desert with her love for weddings by creating a beach theme that is accessible and relatively easy for couples to replicate. Taking a step away from shells and driftwood, Gwenda focused on metallic and pastel colours, props with geometric patterns and shapes and used desert inspired succulents within the flowers and as inspiration for the invitations. The result is a very pretty shoot and one that has me yearning for the summer even more…….and some new cushions!”
