Fforest Wedding Photographer
Last week something magic happened. I attended the SNAP Photography Festival at Fforest Farm near Cardigan in Wales…and I swear there was some kind of fairy dust in the air up there. There were over a hundred photographers in attendance, but everyone was so friendly and happy and lovely that it immediately felt like a much smaller group. There were more than ten speakers, whose subjects ranged from business advice to finding your unique photographic voice to making your clients love you…and every single one of them was inspiring in a different way. Plus, instead of disappearing off to some self-important “speakers only” club after their talks, they all hung out with us around the campfire/dinner table/pub, which I loved. Just part of the Fforest magic.
But the most magical part (yes, I’m going to keep using the word “magic”), was what happened on Wednesday morning. We arrived at our morning talk and everyone was handed an envelope, which we all had to open at the exact same time, and inside was an invitation to a surprise Fforest wedding That Very Afternoon – and not just any wedding, but the wedding of two of the attendees, Ro Chan and Xeco, with whom we’d been hanging out all week! There were tears and cheers and hugs all over the place, because somehow within two days we were all as excited for this lovely couple as if we’d known them all our lives. SNAP magic.
I have to give the hugest shoutout to Laura Babb, who is the mastermind behind this epic photofest, and who clearly throws her entire heart and soul into it. If you’re another photographer reading this, you HAVE to join us next year for SNAP 2017.
My camera didn’t come out much, except for the magic Fforest wedding – there just wasn’t TIME – but here are some of my shots of the epic day. (Note: no ceremony shots, as they asked us to be “unplugged” and just let the main three photographers cover that part).
