Relaxed pub wedding
Kate and Tom came to me via one of my previous lovely couples, Hannah and Sam! Kate and Hannah are midwives together (I kept having to stop myself from cracking lame “Call the Midwife!” jokes :-D), and it was lovely to see them again. Thanks for your referral, Hannah (and Ellie, another midwife who has also pimped me out to her friends!). It means the world to me.
Kate and her family rented the most amazing airbnb near Hampton Court Palace so that everybody could get ready in style, and have an amazing spot to take photos in between the ceremony and reception. After a traditional church wedding in a 900-year old (!!) church in Thames Ditton, Kate, Tom, and I went back to the house to do photos in the garden, which worked out beautifully for a December wedding. It could have been cold and rainy, but instead we had clear skies and a faint chill in the air. Bliss!
Afterwards everyone met us at the Red Lion pub next door to the church for a chilled out London pub wedding. Relaxed speeches and a traditional fish & chip dinner followed, ending the evening with sparklers outside, and some good old-fashioned crazy dancing! Perfect.
Kate & Tom, thank you SO much for being so amenable to everything, for being happy and laughing all day, and for having wonderful, welcoming friends and family!
And thank you to my ever-awesome second shooter Heline Bekker.
