Ok, enough of this snowed-in, icy cold, beast from the East business! I’m South African, so I get very excited by snow, but the cold is just getting ridiculous. So it’s the perfect day to share with you this bright, warm, tropical wedding inspiration shoot I photographed last summer. I hope you feel warmer just looking at these pictures!
The aim of the shoot was to show how you can bring a little tropical wedding flair to your wedding, even in the UK, which isn’t exactly famous for its tropical qualities. But with the clever use of props (flamingoes for the win!) and plants, flowers, and even fruit (tiny pink pineapples are my new favourite thing!) by a talented stylist, you can bring the tropics to you! For this shoot we hired the props, and the tablescape, florals (and tiny pineapples) were created and styled by the brilliant Gwenda of Bohotanical.
A great venue is also a must. Anything with a conservatory/ orangery is perfect for a tropical theme. For this shoot, we used St Clere Estate in Kemsing near Sevenoaks, Kent, which had a perfect orangery, but other venues that would have worked beautifully as well are Northbrook Park and The Secret Garden.
